  • Designing, development, testing, deploying, and user support for client C++ and Perl API's and for the website-facing servers the client API's connect to. If these servers go down, then the Amazon.com website becomes unoperational.
  • Development, testing, deploying, and support for a real-time C++ publishing application and a the corresponding C++ subscribing application. The single instance of the publishing application used a third-party multicast library to send data to the many subscribing applications. The subscribing application wrote the data to the repository that the aforementioned website-facing servers read from.
  • Development and testing of web application that allowed merchants to maintain their item data on Amazon.com. Used C++, Perl, XS, and Mason.
  • Development and testing of C++ application that kept Amazon.com records in sync with the records of a third-party that provides credit lines to Amazon.com customers.
  • Maintenance and support for 100+ users of an internal CGI content management system written in Perl with an Oracle backing store.
