Date: 2004/08/10 Trip type: scramble Special gear: ice axe for steep heather slope USGS quad: Sunrise In area: Mount Rainier National Park Aesthetic rating: 2/5 Long trail approach via the West Fork White River, very boring. The scramble from the Lake James Patrol cabin was good, it had some very steep dirt and heather portions. There were LOTS of loose, rolling rocks, the forest was recently burned and this has destabilized the soil. The view of Rainier from the top was mostly obscured by Sluiskin Mountain. ReferencesMaps
