French Cabin Mountain, West Peak via Silver Creek

Trip Report

We hiked north along Silver Creek on trail 1315 to the intersection with trail 1308.1 at 4,650'. We went east on trail 1308.1 until we met the south ridge of French Cabin Mountain, West Peak. We left the trail and followed the ridge up, often keeping a bit east of the top of the ridge to avoid the rock. The off-trail travel was easy.

On the way down we avoided the ridge rock entirely by descending lower on the east face of the ridge.
