We started up the ridge too soon , when we met with the trail we found it started on the north side of the ridge shortly after the road crosses the ridge. The trail is a well-pruned corridor through young forest until around 3,600' where it enters mature forest. The upper part of the trail passes through a few boulder fields, these sections were difficult for us since the boulders were covered with a foot of new snow. The final approach to the summit was a bit steep. On the summit we spent a few seconds enjoying what might be 360 degree views in clear conditions and then turned around and returned the same way.
