Trip Report

Carla, Fredrick, and I parked at the Iron Peak trailhead (trail #1399) and hiked up the trail to the Iron/Gene pass. We headed up the south ridge of Gene's Peak, mostly traversing on the east side of the ridge until the last 40 vertical feet before the summit were we regained the top of the ridge. The last bit was easy rock scrambling. Lots of loose rock up here, a helmet would be a good idea.

We descended down into the valley and started up the SE ridge of Bill's Peak but driving rain came in and sent us back to our car.
