Date: 2007/05/02 Trip type: scramble Elevation gain: approx. 1,505 feet (approx 458 meters) Car-to-car time: 3 hours 7 minutes In Area: Republic of Ireland Trip ReportI drove up the Owenwee River valley to the trailhead between Maum, Crockuna, and Slievetooey. The hiking route is marked with signs, from my parking spot it heads up a paved road that passes a few structures before becoming a trail. The trail had little yellow steps that took you over the barbed wire fences. At the pass between Crockuna and Slievetooey, I left the trail and headed north to the summit of Slievetooey. From the summit of Slievetooey I followed the west ridge down to the pass, then ascended Slievetooey, Far W Top. After Far W Top I traversed SE back to the trail. The moderate, open Irish land makes scrambling so easy it is hiking. References
