Date: 2007/05/02 Trip type: scramble Elevation gain: approx. 1,505 feet Car-to-car time: 3 hours 7 minutes In area: Republic of Ireland I drove up the Owenwee River valley to the trailhead between Maum, Crockuna, and Slievetooey. The hiking route is marked with signs, from my parking spot it heads up a paved road that passes a few structures before becoming a trail. The trail had little yellow steps that took you over the barbed wire fences. At the pass between Crockuna and Slievetooey, I left the trail and headed north to the summit of Slievetooey. From the summit of Slievetooey I followed the west ridge down to the pass, then ascended Slievetooey, Far W Top. After Far W Top I traversed SE back to the trail. The moderate, open Irish land makes scrambling so easy it is hiking. References
