The trailhead is marked by a sign on the east side of the road, we missed the sign on our first pass. We headed up the Scatter Creek trail. We went left (NE) at the intersection of trails #1328 and #1226.2. After this point the trail became more faint and often faded out entirely in the meadows. We followed the trail to Scatter Creek Pass (AKA Fish Eagle Pass?), the 6,160'+ pass between Scatter Peaks and Solomon Mountain. These trails are shown correctly in current Greentrails maps, but aren't shown on The Cradle and are apparently incorrectly shown on National Geographic Topo! maps. From the pass we went NW up the ridge, often dropping to the west side and eventually staying on the west side until we reached the summit. The summit was roomy and had an infrequently-signed Mountaineers summit register. There were excellent views of the Snoqualmie Range from Three Queens to Bears Brest. Also visible were Mount Daniel, Granite Mountain, The Citadel, The Cradle, Cashmere Mountain, Mount Stuart, Argonaut Peak, Ingalls Peak, Hawkins Mountain, Goat Mountain, etc. I haven't enjoyed peak identification this much for while, I was glad I brought the four surrounding Greentrail maps to help identify all the peaks.
